Personal Branding Experience

I noticed a post the other day from my friend, Melissa that said “Personal Branding Experience.”

It definitely caught my eye since I live in the world of Internet Marketing where success relies heavily on Brand. We had to meet.

I am convinced that what Melissa offers is a stumbling block for many, and so we talked about how we could make the ‘Personal Branding Experience’ even more complete for our peeps right here in our wonderful community of #eldoradocounty.

Fine-Tune Your Brand and Sharpen Your Message Workshop

For me, this was a no brainer – I’m working on a workshop right now with Placerville Downtown Association to help the merchants fine-tune their brand in actionable ways, i.e., by doing. It will be a fun and insightful workshop! (sidenote – I already gave the first workshop and Wow what a great experience full of valuable information!!!)

Well, at this point, if you don’t know Melissa, I bet you are like, are you going to tell me what she offers?

YES. An Experience.  Perfectly great. Now what.

What Are You Selling?

You see, it doesn’t matter what she is selling, because she is selling her brand. The only thing that matters is what feeling did I get from her brand, before during, and after?

Before: Encouragement, excitement, inclusive, Generosity

During: Safety, Hugs, Warmth, Family, We’ve Got You, I’ve got it taken care of, red carpet

After: Praise, more Excitement, more Encouragement, Gratitude

AND

First Two Points to Branding

#1. & #2 – The First 2 points to Branding: That is who she says her business is and That is also who everyone else says it is.

Brand Memory Magic

When ‘What you say about your brand’ and ‘What others say about your brand’ and ‘What you present to others about your brand’ all say the same thing and evoke the same feeling, that’s when the magic happens called Brand Memory.

Stumbling Block – How Do You Introduce Yourself or Co-Promote Other Businesses

If you don’t know who you are, how do you introduce yourself and invoke the ‘feeling’ that you were hoping for? Are you going to represent yourself as a Hero brand like Nike – Achieve Greatness! when you are actually a Creator/Artist brand like Crayola that wants to recreate and beautify the world everywhere?

Experience – Gut Feeling

What Melissa offers is an experience and a feeling. What she sells is photography. Because her brand is solid, she could actually sell other things under her brand – which is by the way the Caregiver brand.

Melissa understands people and makes them feel comfortable. She creates this environment and helps them portray their Brand. I went in full well knowing that I am representing Wellman Works, Ltd., a leader, teacher, coach of all things Internet. My business is a Sage Brand.

So naturally, Melissa staged me in working type modes and then as we progressed, she started really ramping it up to Classic and Glamorous.

Branding, where does it start and end? It starts with a feeling, an experience that you want for your clients. In Melissa’s case with Vintage Photography, it is a ‘giant hug that you dissolve in.’

It’s a bit like reverse engineering from a feeling that you want to invoke. From there we can identify the archetype i.e., character of your brand and keep your business on track.
